Apparently, Volume 2 is not going to be outdone by Volume 1 since this week started off with a bang. Things got less chaotic near the end of the week, but we know that won’t last long.
The week began with the chaos surrounding the Israel-Iran conflict. Although Israel first launched the attacks against Iran on June 12th, the United States effectively put an end to Iran’s nuclear capabilities just over a week later. President Trump addressed the nation, along with Vice President Vance, Defense Secretary Hegseth and Secretary of State Rubio. As a woman who appreciates and admires masculinity, the President’s address did not disappoint. The men showed what American peace through strength looks like, just as they should.
Three nuclear facilities in Iran were obliterated when B-2 Bombers dropped bunker buster bombs and Tomahawk missiles launched from submarines hit their targets in the mountains of Iran. Apparently, liberals have forgotten how hateful Iran has always been toward the United States. Snowflakes began to melt when the United States military completed the successful mission. Just like North Korea, Iran has been used as a terror threat our entire lives. Americans melting down about the destruction of the side of a mountain that housed the means of destroying the planet makes no sense. They push for paper straws to save the turtles and lose their minds when the means of wiping us all out is eliminated. As Ron White says, you can’t fix stupid.
The day after the President’s address to the nation, Secretary of Defense Hegseth and General Caine held a press briefing describing the attack, named Operation Midnight Hammer, as an incredible and overwhelming success. Hegseth said, “The order we received from our commander in chief was focused. It was powerful, and it was clear we devastated the Iranian nuclear program. But it's worth noting the operation did not target Iranian troops or the Iranian people...”
Members of Congress from both parties began their freak-out shortly after the news of the bombing was released. California Rep Ro Khanna and Kentucky Rep Thomas Massie co-sponsored a War Powers Resolution directing the President to terminate the use of our Armed Forces from hostilities against Iran without Congressional approval. Whether or not the President has the authorization to approve these strikes is beyond me, but I did read that similar actions have been conducted without congressional approval by Presidents Reagan, Clinton, both Bushes, Obama, and that fake president we had before Trump.
I wrote about my impression of Representative Massie several months ago. His actions make it very hard to defend. If he is a Judas Goat, he’s a damn good one. Unless his goal is to prove that Congress is illegitimate and therefore, the President is not obligated to get their approval on anything he supports, then Massie’s behavior more closely resembles that of a Trump-hating RINO. If he and President Trump step to the stage for a deep bow after this is over, many of us will be shocked. If President Trump ends up endorsing him in the 2026 primaries, then it will serve as another “shame on us moment.” For now, President Trump has launched Kentucky MAGA to defeat Massie in the 2026 election. This seems unnecessary if the two men are actually working together to Make America Great Again. But is there more to the story?
My friend, Kelly McCulloch, and I have talked about Representative Massie. Like most of us, Kelly believes we need to restore our nation by returning to the principles of the Constitution. While past Presidents have ruled by executive order and bent and twisted the rules to fit their agenda, it shouldn’t be allowed to continue. President Trump may be following along with the precedent set by previous presidents but at some point, those precedents need to be reined in. Kelly questions if Massie is trying to expose the problem of allowing presidents to govern by executive order. Although they’re constitutional, they’re not established law. An executive order is only useful for that president’s term(s). The next president can erase any executive order from the previous president. Could a president make such a detrimental change through an executive order that hurts the country so badly that it can’t be fixed by the next president? Probably, and that’s a concern.
We’ve been lucky that we haven’t had that one psychotic president who could fundamentally change the landscape of our country. But we were close, weren’t we? Obama probably got us as close to socialism as we’ve ever been. We were on track to be destroyed by a rogue president, attorney general, Supreme Court, and Congress. If Trump hadn’t been sworn in in 2016, our country would look much different today.
My conversation with Kelly got me thinking. She makes an interesting point. Are we entering a Civics Lesson phase of what is and isn’t constitutional for each branch of government? The realignment of our Judicial Branch has already begun. Is the Executive Branch next? Is Representative Massie leading us there? One thing is certain, no one knows for sure. Not one of us know what’s really happening around us.
Following the obliteration of their nuclear facilities, Iran fired retaliatory missiles at a U.S. military base in Qatar. Of the 14 missiles that were launched, 13 were intercepted, and one was allowed to land because it was headed in a nonthreatening direction. There were no casualties and President Trump said that Tehran warned of the attack in advance. That’s how war operates under President Trump. We warn them and they warn us so that everyone can save face and no one gets hurt. It’s not the first time this happened. The New York Times reported that Iran gave advance notice before they launched missiles at two military bases in Iraq following the assassination of Qassim Soleimani in 2020. The mini-war with Iran didn’t last long. President Trump announced a truce between Israel and Iran and declared that the world was now at peace. It only took a week for President Trump to declare peace on the world.
Displaying just how important peace is to him, President Trump dropped the F-Bomb while talking to reporters, and for some reason, it made me strangely happy. That word was once labeled “the worst word ever” when our children were younger, but now that they’re adults, they too recognize that sometimes you need that word to get your point across. President Trump made his point. Iran and Israel have been fighting for so long they don’t know what the F*** they’re doing. Luckily, President Trump stepped in and shut it down.
After days of President Trump and others declaring the successful obliteration of Iran’s nuclear sites, the America hating media tried to crush the excitement and reported that the strikes actually didn’t destroy them. In a Truth Social post, President Trump called for Natasha Bertrand of CNN to be fired.
Following CNN’s biased reporting, Pete Hegseth held another press conference the following morning and it was worth the time to watch it. General Dan “Razin” Caine delivered a presentation like nothing I’ve ever watched before. He gave a detailed description of the attacks and the history behind it. It was fascinating to hear him talk about the 15-year reconnaissance that took place in the area. Listening to that press conference made me proud to be American and deepened my respect for our military. It was clear to me that the purpose behind this was to cut the press at their knees and expose them for the hateful anti-American organizations that they are. Pete Hegseth did not pull any punches when addressing the media. The Marxists are trying to say he was unhinged, but patriots like me felt like high-fiving the man. THIS is what we’ve been waiting for. THIS is what I voted for. It’s our turn to fight back and the people who represent us are doing that. Finally.
Not to be outdone by President Trump’s post about Natasha Bertrand, Hegseth called out Jennifer Griffin of Fox News as being “the worst,” and the one who misrepresents the most intentionally. Tough words for a former co-worker, but sometimes the truth hurts. In response, Griffin said she took offense at the comment but that didn’t phase Hegseth as he wasn’t afraid to call her out for her biased reporting. We’ve all watched her ugly sneer and visual repulsion at the thought of anything pro-Trump for years. It’s not nice to think it was funny to watch him call her out, but it’s okay to not be nice toward the media.
Federal Reserve Chair, Jerome Powell, appeared before Congress this week and announced that the Fed will not cut interest rates. This is in direct defiance to President Trump’s Truth Social post announcing that rates should be two to three points lower. Apparently, Powell doesn’t care what the President thinks, or how his decision impacts Americans. Many people are delaying new home or car purchases until the rates come down. Lowering them may just kick off The Golden Age in America, which says a lot about why Powell hasn’t lowered them.
AOC called for President Trump’s impeachment to which he responded in typical Presidential fashion by posting to Truth Social, “Stupid AOC, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, one of the “dumbest” people in Congress, is now calling for my impeachment…” along with several other colorful comments about her and other Democrats. He ended the Truth with, “…so go ahead and try impeaching me, again, MAKE MY DAY!” The thought of them trying to impeach him again is comical. Unless you’re still asleep, you may notice that Congress has no power and hasn’t done a damn thing since President Trump left office the first time. (See J6-A Different Perspective).
President Trump attended the NATO conference and in a discussion between him and NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte, Trump was questioned about his use of profanity when describing the conflict between Israel and Iran. President Trump described the two nations as kids having a playground fight. Sometimes you need to let them fight it out for a few minutes before you step in to stop them. Rutte expounded on that idea by saying, “Daddy has to sometimes use strong language.” This blossomed into a story that the NATO Chief called Trump “Daddy.” In a hilarious exchange with reporters, President Trump addressed the issue while Secretary of State Marco Rubio laughed in the background. We are watching a movie and the scenes have been pretty entertaining this week.
The Supreme Court continues its turn toward America First policies, setting the scales of justice back in alignment. The Court sided with the Trump administration's request to limit universal injunctions issued by federal courts. In other words, the Court pushed back on the idea that one judge can block a federal policy for the whole country. Court rulings should only affect the people involved in the case, not everyone in the country. Allowing one lawsuit to set or change national policy was giving lower courts more power than they’re meant to have. The Supreme Court ruling said that the universal injunctions likely exceeded the equitable authority that Congress has given to federal courts.
In writing the Opinion of the Court, Justice Amy Coney Barrett made it clear that she did not agree with the opinions of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. Barrett wrote, "We will not dwell on Justice Jackson’s argument, which is at odds with more than two centuries’ worth of precedent, not to mention the Constitution itself," Barrett wrote. "We observe only this: Justice Jackson decries an imperial Executive while embracing an imperial Judiciary." My personal favorite from the Opinion was when Barrett wrote, “JUSTICE JACKSON would do well to heed her own admonition: “Everyone, from the President on down, is bound by law.” -- That goes for judges too.”
The Supreme Court ruled that school systems are required to provide parents with an "opt-out" provision that excuses their children from class when course material conflicts with their religious beliefs, such as the case with courses that include LGBTQ or that teach Darwin’s theory of evolution. Marxist Senator Dick Durbin responded on X, “Tragically, the same zealots who try to ban books from libraries are now trying to limit what kids can learn, read, and hear from teachers in their classrooms.” How many people want their child to learn about lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer sex from their teacher? It was when our education system started pushing the envelope past teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic that our children’s education began to suffer. It’s about time we get back to teaching the basics in school.
After months of hearing about it, President Trump’s ‘One, Big, Beautiful Bill’ came a step closer to approval in the Senate. The White House has a great link containing some information about the Bill. It contains a map that allows you to hover over your state for the estimated savings for a family of four.
I’ll admit I haven’t paid as close attention to this Bill as I wish I could, since I think it’s another step toward the Trump economy that we’re all waiting patiently to arrive. Hopefully we’ll hear much more about this Bill in the coming days.
At no other time in my life have I been so aware of what is happening in the world of our government. That’s the point, isn’t it? The purpose of the chaos behind the long, drawn-out march through this war was to get us to pay attention and wake us up. Our busy lives and the indifference we felt toward our government only benefitted corrupt politicians and destroyed our ability to truly feel and appreciate The American Dream. I swear life in the United States was different when I was growing up in the 1970s and 80s. I’m looking forward to experiencing that life again and I will remain eternally grateful to President Trump and the brave patriots that helped get us there, even with all the chaos.
It was a wonderful and glorious week for MAGA. I’m not tired of the winning yet! I’ve also never experienced the great leadership coming from a president in my lifetime and I’m 72 years old.
