Stockholm Syndrome
Stockholm Syndrome is what it is called when you begin to identify with your captors. They get nicer every day that they don't kill you. ~Patty Hearst
In August 1973, Jan-Erik Olsson, a convict on parole, attempted to rob a bank in Stockholm, Sweden, and held four bank employees hostage. During the standoff with police, Olsson demanded the release of his friend and fellow convict, Clark Olofsson. The authorities complied and brought Olofsson to the bank where the two men held the hostages in a bank vault for six days. By the second day, the captives were on a first name basis with their captors. When the police commissioner entered the bank to check on the hostages, he felt hostility directed toward him rather than the captors. The police felt it was doubtful that the gunmen would harm the hostages since they had all developed a friendly relationship.
After the ordeal, one of the hostages, Kristin Enmark, complained to reporters that the incompetence of the police forced the hostages to negotiate for their lives with their captors. They felt the criminals behaved more rationally than police negotiators which caused the hostages to become more afraid of the police than of their captors.
The stories of kindness by the captors soon began circulating. For instance, when Kristin Enmark began to shiver, Olsson draped a wool jacket over her shoulders, and when another hostage couldn’t reach her family by phone, he encouraged her to keep trying and not give up. One of the hostages complained of claustrophobia so Olsson allowed her to walk outside of the vault attached to a 30-foot rope. She later told The New Yorker that she thought he was very kind to allow her to leave the vault. After Olsson threatened to shoot the male hostage in the leg to get the police’s attention, Kristin Enmark tried to convince the man to let him shoot him. It was just his leg, after all. The man later told The New Yorker that he thought it was kind that his captor had threatened to only shoot him in the leg.
Police eventually launched a teargas attack and stormed the bank, rescuing the hostages, who were unharmed. When the hostages were ordered to come out first, they refused, demanding that their captors be released first in order to prevent the police from shooting them. In the doorway of the vault, the convicts and hostages embraced and kissed. None of the hostages would testify against their captors and instead began raising money for their defense.
The hostages’ irrational attachment to their captors surprised the public and the police, who investigated whether Enmark had been involved in the planning of the robbery. Afterward, some of the hostages themselves were confused. The day after her release, one of the hostages asked a psychiatrist if there was something wrong with her since she didn’t hate the men who had held her hostage.
Psychiatrists classified the hostages’ strange behavior as Stockholm Syndrome and compared it to the behavior of wartime shell-shock exhibited by soldiers. They explained that the hostages became emotionally indebted to their abductors, and not the police, for sparing their lives.
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) classifies psychological disorders for the American Psychiatric Association. Because Stockholm Syndrome is not considered a recognized mental disorder, it does not appear in the manual. Although it is not a formal diagnosis, the term “Stockholm Syndrome” is used to describe a psychological phenomenon where a victim develops positive feelings toward their captor.
Just six months after the bank robbery in Stockholm, newspaper heiress Patty Hearst was kidnapped from her apartment in California. Her kidnapping was a violent attack by three armed captors who assaulted Hearst’s fiancé and a neighbor who tried to help her. She was blindfolded, carried away, and put in the trunk of a car. The kidnappers fled while firing their weapons at neighbors who were attempting to help.
Three days after her kidnapping, the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA) announced that it was holding Hearst captive as a prisoner of war. The SLA demanded the Hearst family provide food to the needy to which they complied and donated $2 million worth of food. The SLA then demanded an additional $4 million but The Hearst Corporation said it would only donate the additional money once Patty was released unharmed.
Two months after being kidnapped, Patty Hearst released a video claiming that she was joining the SLA of her own free will. She was soon participating in armed robberies. The following month, police raided SLA headquarters killing six of the group’s nine known members. Patty Hearst was not on the premises but was eventually caught and arrested for armed robbery. Despite claiming that she had been brainwashed by the SLA, she was convicted and sentenced to seven years in prison. Her sentence was commuted by President Jimmy Carter, and she received a full pardon from Bill Clinton.
These are just two examples of the most famous cases of Stockholm Syndrome. Although it isn’t recognized as a legitimate disorder, it’s clear that there’s something to it. Many psychiatrists believe it falls under trauma bonding or post-traumatic stress disorder.
Psychologists describe Stockholm Syndrome as an extreme coping or survival mechanism against a hostile situation. Those rescued are said to be in a trance-like state where the concept of right and wrong become so blurred that captivity becomes comforting. In cases where a person is held for years, it’s the outside world that represents danger.
Some of the symptoms of Stockholm Syndrome include affection for or attachment to the abuser, attempting to help the abuser, and distrust of or anger toward those trying to rescue them.
After watching the liberal meltdown on social media after the November 5th election, it occurred to me that these people are suffering from Stockholm Syndrome. Their captor is the Democrat Party (and the media), and their rescuer is President Trump. What other explanation is there for their irrational attachment to Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, or Joe Biden?
The following Fox News montage demonstrates the Stockholm symptom of affection for the abuser, with clips of the media reporting on the “flawless, incredible” Kamala campaign.
The affection for Kamala Harris as shown in this video is unwarranted considering the direction our country has taken while she was in office. After four years as Vice President in the Biden Administration, Kamala Harris has not contributed to any positive results for our country. With the historically highest level of debt, inflation soaring nearly 20 percent, and the highest number of illegal immigrant encounters ever at the border, it’s hard to comprehend why anyone would feel affection toward Kamala Harris, yet they do. They are clearly suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.
Distrust of or anger toward those trying to help them is evident by the media’s anger toward the American people for electing President Trump.
It’s not just President Trump that these people hate. They hate us. In classic Marxist racist fashion, Sunny Hostin blames “uneducated white women” for supporting President Trump. Imagine a white female panelist on Fox News’s Outnumbered saying that Kamala lost because of uneducated black women. Are they so blind by their affection to their captors, the Democrat Party, that they don’t realize the destruction they’ve caused in our country?
Perceiving basic dignity as kindness and feeling powerless are also symptoms of Stockholm Syndrome. We’ve probably all seen this behavior from the Democrats in our lives. Victim status is a well-known feature of the Democrat Party. Rather than listing one category – AMERICANS – under the “Who We Serve” section of the Democrat Party website, they single out individual groups and attach labels to them. Having their American identity stripped away while being placed into victimized categories makes them feel powerless without the support of the Democrat Party.
Victims of Stockholm Syndrome suffer from many afflictions including depression, anxiety, and confusion. I was going to include a video montage of liberals losing their minds on Twitter, but I just can’t do it. I honestly believe these people are suffering from a mental disorder. Type “meltdown montage” into the search bar on Twitter and you’ll find plenty of examples.
The Bay Area CBT Center includes a discussion of gaslighting in Stockholm Syndrome. It is described as a manipulation tactic used by abusers to make victims question their own reality. The abuser distorts the truth, causing confusion and self-doubt. Over time, the victim starts to believe the abuser’s version of events, further reinforcing the emotional bond. This is exactly what the Democrats and the Media have done in their misrepresentation of The American Dream and President Trump’s plans to Make America Great Again. The fear that liberal voters feel is irrational and detrimental to the future of our nation. For years, our Democrat-run education system has been indoctrinating students to the belief that America was never great, that white privilege is a valid problem, and that masculinity is toxic. This is why we see the division between black and white, men and women, rich and poor. It’s the Marxist mental disorder – Stockholm Syndrome.
So how do we fix it?
Since liberals can’t function without a diagnosis, perhaps diagnosing them with Stockholm Syndrome could serve as a starting point for their recovery. The most promising results of treatment come from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), including psychoeducation to help them regain a sense of empowerment. In the case of Democrats, maybe a reeducation to patriotism is what is needed.
In October 2023, Hillary Clinton said that half the country needs to be forcibly reeducated to abandon the ideology that led them to vote for President Trump. In an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, Clinton asked, “When do they break with him? Because at some point, maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the cult members,” to which Amanpour nodded in agreement.
Hillary isn’t the only Democrat advocating for a reeducation system for those of us who love our country. In January 2021, an undercover Project Veritas video aired an attorney for PBS expressing support for reeducation camps for the children of President Trump's supporters. In June of this year the Democrat candidate running against Elise Stefanik suggested MAGA supporters attend a "reeducation camp" after the 2024 election.
‘Boomerang’ and ‘Think Mirror’ are common themes in the Q Drops. By publicly advocating for reeducation of MAGA followers, the Democrats acknowledge and support the need for reeducation. However, it’s not reeducation for the ‘America First’ movement that our country needs, it’s the anti-American movement of the Democrat Party that requires reeducation.
Although reeducation camps are often associated with labor or concentration camps and can create a negative image, they can be a powerful way to eradicate the socialist influence that has taken hold in our country.
The essay “Rebuilding Germany’s Children: The Nazi Indoctrination and Postwar Reeducation of the Hitler Youth” examined the reeducation of Germany. While the brainwashing of German children was accomplished in part through schooling, the essay argues that the destruction of Germany after the war, combined with the Allied efforts at reeducation successfully shifted the indoctrinated youth away from Nazi ideals.
The intention of the Hitler Youth movement was to indoctrinate a generation of German children to the spirit of Socialism, and to sever their ties to the Church, the family, and their history. Sound familiar? This reads like the American Marxist playbook. However, one difference between the Hitler Youth and American males is that the German males underwent physical fitness training and military instruction to become loyal soldiers to Hitler, while American males have been taught to avoid masculinity at all costs.
Reeducation in Germany happened primarily through the reorganization of schools. Textbooks containing Nazi propaganda had to be replaced. After the war, when the Allied groups tested literacy and general knowledge of German children, it became apparent that they lacked proper education due to the emphasis on Nazi indoctrination rather than on core teachings. This is also something we’ve seen before, with angry parents at school board meetings protesting sexually explicit books in school libraries. American children have been taught to concentrate more on race, gender, and sexuality than reading, writing, and arithmetic.
Almost all of my papers contain a common theme that we need disclosure to fix what has been broken in our country. I believe we also need, and we will see, a reeducation in our country to return us to America First patriotic values to build a strong, resilient country for future generations.
President Trump is onboard with this too. On November 2, 2020, President Trump signed an Executive Order Establishing the President’s Advisory 1776 Commission. This Executive Order reads like a blueprint for the reeducation of America’s youth. “Despite the virtues and accomplishments of this Nation, many students are now taught in school to hate their own country, and to believe that the men and women who built it were not heroes, but rather villains.”
Joe Biden rescinded the 1776 Commission Executive Order in January 2021, but I’m willing to bet it will resurface soon.
In his “Plan to Save American Education” video President Trump says, “Our public schools have been taken over by the Radical Left maniacs…On day one, we will begin to find and remove the radicals, zealots, and Marxists who have infiltrated the federal Department of Education.”
It isn’t just our children who need a reeducation in American exceptionalism. Democrat supporters must learn to recognize the manipulative tactics that were used against them to advance an agenda that many of them probably didn’t fully understand. In fact, our entire country is in need of disclosure so that everyone, whether a Marxist or a Patriot, is aware of how close we came to losing our country. Reeducation for all of us is not only necessary, but it is also required if we are to Make America Great Again.
We have a long road ahead of us, but I think most of it has already been paved out of sight during the last four years. We are living through an historic time. It’s why I write these papers. It excites me to think of the days ahead and the future that our children and grandchildren will experience as we all work to Make America Great Again.
Happy Thanksgiving!
The brainwashers sought to keep us on the treadmill of hating ourselves and disparaging those who are not of our own clan. The “Do not discuss politics or religion” rule has been a tool to keep us from finding out that we don’t actually hate each other.
Disclosure has been slow… consider that the vast majority of Americans still think Oprah is something akin to the Black Female Jesus (Octavia Spencer in “The Shack”) Once people start seeing some real disclosure, come to grips with how they have been manipulated, they may be emboldened to flee the safety of the plantation forever.
Hopefully they will re-educate themselves as voraciously as we have been doing for the past 8 years or more. Thanks so much Dawn. Excellent hypothesis as always!
